| Educational Improvement Tax Credit
|
| REF is an approved Educational
Improvement organization and business contributors may be
eligible to receive the Educational Improvement Tax Credit.
Pennsylvania companies that commit to donating one year receive a 75% tax credit and for two years receive a 90% tax credit. Credits are applied to corporate net income tax, capital stock franchise tax, bank and trust company share tax, title insurance company share tax, insurance premiums tax and mutual thrift institutions tax. By donating to REF through the EITC program, companies in the community support public education.

Special
Projects
REF continues its
commitment to fund an education-based leadership program. A new
climbing wall has been constructed at RES and a climbing wall with
low ropes components will be installed at the new middle school,
offering a curriculum based program that develops team building,
self-esteem, communication, trust, leadership and social skills for
all students. The Foundation has
renewed its support of the STARS (SummerTime Achievement in Reading)
program with funding. Approximately 70 1st and 2nd graders,
identified in need of reading support are afforded the opportunity
to attend a summer camp that incorporates hands-on activities,
integrating literature, movement and writing with read-aloud and
listening experiences. The camp program allows students to continue
to make significant progress in their reading strategies and
comprehension.
REF is taking a
proactive approach to community needs and issues by forming a new
Community Outreach committee. This group works closely with the
Drug and Alcohol Task Force(DATF) to create a curriculum-based
wellness program both for students and families.
In addition, REF
is assisting the Alumni Association of Radnor High School (AARHS)
with ongoing communications with Radnor graduates, strengthening the
bond between the alumni and school district and gaining the
knowledge and accomplishments of our alumni for future generations.
In turn, we can develop a base of future support for our schools and
